Polish Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Here’s a delicious idea for dinner, Polish stuffed cabbage rolls are a great idea and easy to make. Serve with some sauerkraut on the side and any of your favorite sides.

Ingredients

14 cabbage leaves (approximately)
1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
1 1/2 cups cooked rice
1 cup diced onion
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 can diced tomatoes (14 ounce can)
2 tbsp flour
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1
Blanche the cabbage head in boiling water to make it simple to remove cabbage leaves.
2
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, pork, cooked rice, diced onion and 1 tbsp minced garlic. Salt and pepper to your tastes.
3
Roll the meat mixture into the cabbage leaves and place them seam side down in a large baking dish you’ve sprayed with vegetable spray.
4
To make the tomato sauce, to your blender add the can of diced tomatoes, flour, ketchup, brown sugar and 1 tsp minced garlic blending everything together until smooth. Salt and pepper to your taste.
5
Heat a large sauté pan on the stove and pour the tomato sauce into the sauté pan. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and while stirring, simmer for about 3 minutes. Pour the sauce over the cabbage rolls.
6
Cover the cabbage dish in foil and place into a preheated 350 degree oven for approximately 45 minutes. Check the internal temperate of the rolls and make sure they are 165 degree’s. Remove from the oven, let them sit for 10 minutes and serve. I like to server with sauerkraut. Enjoy!
