Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches
Need an easy to make treat? These philly cheese steak sandwiches are the perfect idea. I’m using the #BeehiveCheese #RedButteHatchChile that I shredded.
Ingredients
4 sirloin steaks
2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 small bell pepper, thinly sliced
6 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
3 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheese
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
6 hoagie buns
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Salt and pepper the steaks to taste and grill to medium rare. Remove from the grill and let them sit for ten minutes. Thinly slice the steaks and set aside.
2
Melt a couple of tablespoons of butter in a sauté pan and sauté the onion, mushrooms and bell peppers for about 5 minutes, set aside.
3
To make the cheese sauce, melt 4 tbsp of butter in a sauce pan and add the flour mixing together to combine. Whisk the milk into the roux and bring to a boil while stirring. Reduce the heat to simmer and add the shredded cheese, dijon mustard and worcestershire sauce. Stir everything together to combine and continue to gently stir until the cheddar cheese melts and everything is combined and smooth.
4
To assemble the sandwiches, add the thinly sliced steak to the hoagie bun along with some of the sautéed onion mixture. Drizzle some of the cheese sauce over the sandwich, serve and enjoy!
