Ham and Cheese Puffs
These ham and cheese puffs are a delicious breakfast or brunch item. To be honest, I love them for dinner too. I pair them with a delicious bell pepper salad.
Ingredients
1 package puff pastry sheets
2 cups chopped ham
2 cups shredded cheese
2 bell peppers, julienned
1 bunch green onions, finely sliced
1/4 cup olive oil
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Make sure the puff pastry sheets are thawed, cold but pliable.
2
Cut each sheet into 6 squares.
3
Divide the chopped ham and cheese between the twelve squares.
4
Roll the ham and cheese stuffed pastry squares up like cigars. Place them seam side down on a parchment lined baking sheet.
5
Brush with an egg wash and sprinkle with your favorite season salt or herb blend.
6
Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for about 20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
7
While the ham and cheese puffs are baking, to a large bowl add the julienne bell peppers and finely sliced green onions. Drizzle with the olive oil and vinegar and toss to coat. Salt and pepper to taste
8
Serve the freshly baked ham and cheese puffs with the bell pepper salad on the side. Enjoy!
