Palmiers

Palmiers

Perfect for brunch or a sweet snack during the day, these palmiers are simple to make!

Ingredients

1 pkg puff pastry sheets, two sheets per package
1 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

Make sure the puff pastry sheets are thawed out.

Place one sheet of puff pastry on your work surface and sprinkle with about 1/2 cup sugar. Using your rolling pin, carefully roll the sugar into the surface of the dough. Your not trying to roll the dough out more, just press the sugar into it. Turn the dough over and repeat.

Slice the sugar coated puff pastry sheet into 1/3 inch slices and place and fold each end over to meet in the center of the strip and dough it once more so the their are essentially the ends are folding in twice. Press the gently down in sugar making sure the are well coated and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.

Pinch the bottom tip of end of the puff pastry opening up the top portion of the palmiers into a “V”.

Bake the palmiers in a 400 degree for about 10 minutes, remove and turn them over and continue baking for another 5-10 minutes or the cookies are golden brown.

Remove from the oven, cool, serve and enjoy. If desired, serve with your favorite beverage, ice cream or any dessert dip.
