Tater Tots

Tater Tots

If you’ve never made tater tots don’t panic. This is an easy recipe that using cornstarch to bind things together and create those yummy tater tots that are perfect for soup and dipping!

Ingredients

3-4 russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp sugar
Vegetable Oil for frying
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Heat about 4 inches of oil in a large pot.

Be sure to peel and chop the potatoes into about 1/2 inch pieces.

Fry the prepared potato pieces until the are just beginning to turn golden. Remove and let them drain on a plate lined with paper towels.

Place half ( process in batches, depending on the size of your food processor) of the fried potato pieces into a food processor and pulse until the potato pieces are about 1/8 inch large. Transfer the potato pieces into a large bowl.

Sprinkle the potatoes with cornstarch, sugar, salt and pepper. Carefully mix them all together.

Shape the potato mixture into tater tot sizes and deep fry until they are golden brown.
