Easy Salisbury Steak
I remember the first time I tried salisbury steak at a restaurant when I was a child, I loved it. I was confused it was a “hamburger” patty and not a “steak”. With that said, I would enjoy a delicious salisbury steak anytime!
Ingredients
For the Salisbury Steak:
2 pounds ground beef
2 tbsp Worcester sauce
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 egg
1 cup bread crumbs
2 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp black pepper
For the Gravy:
1 medium chopped onion
1 tbsp Worcester sauce
1 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups beef stock
3 tbsp flour
Salt and freshly cracked pepper to taste

In a large bowl combine the beef, Worcester sauce, mustard, egg, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Remove meat and form 4 - 6 patties about ½ inch thick

Heat a heavy sauté pan on the stove. Add about 4 tbsp of butter. Pan fry each steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side turning only once.

Transfer steaks to a preheated 350 degree oven and continue cooking until completely cooked.

While steaks are finishing in the oven, add to the sauté pan, diced onion, Worcester sauce, Dijon mustard and heavy cream.

Mix the flour with the beef stock and add to the sauté pan. Bring to a boil and cook for about 5 minutes. Gravy should thicken.

Serve gravy with Salisbury steak, baked potatoes and your favorite vegetable. Enjoy!
